Everest Poker Turns Five
July 31, 2009 10:26 amEverest has joined Full Tilt Poker in now enjoying five years in the business. During that time Everest has become a well established poker site with a broad base of members and is perhaps most famous for being the official sponsor of the WSOP.
Everest first hit the poker scene back in 2004, and by March 4th, 2005 celebrated a landmark 10 million hands played. By January 1st, 2006 100 million hands had been played and on April 17th, 2007 Everest logged an impressive one billion hands.
As part of its celebrations Everest has lined up 5 promotions for its members to enjoy, which are 1:a $5,000 bonus for players involved in its five billionth hand; 2: Between July 1st and August 31st, any player making quad fives in a cash game with at least one five in hand will receive a whopping 55,555 Summit Points; 3: Players earning five summit points or more a day up to September will be entered into a $5,000 freeroll; 4: There will be between a 5 and 55% reduction on certain items at the Summit Point Store, and 5: $5,000 Refer-A-Friend Freerolls.
These promotions are sure to add a buzz of excitement around the site, but perhaps the most impressive promotion offered is a $500,000 Guaranteed tournament that starts online but ends with the final nine players being flown out to Las Vegas to complete the competition at the same venue as the WSOP Main Event. The players will also be able to stay and watch the WSOP Main Event Final at the Rio beginning on November 7th.
Everest is owned by GigaMedia and has continued to be one of the most popular poker sites in Europe and Asia but unfortunately does not accept U.S. players due to the American online poker ban.
