Farmer’s Wife Scoops £1.2M Slots Jackpot
November 4, 2016 1:08 pmMandy Bowman, 45, is celebrating her good fortune after winning a huge £1,185,253 slots jackpot while playing at online casino site, Glossy Bingo. Hailing from Buckie, a town in the north-East of Scotland, Mandy married her husband John, 40, two years ago, but the couple have been so busy running their farm that they have yet to take their honeymoon.
Despite the windfall, it is likely to still be several months before they can eventually take a vacation, though, and as Mandy explains: “We’ll soon be lambing and then the cows will be out to the field, so it could be May or even June before we can take a holiday.”
In the meantime, Mandy said that she might splash out on a 4×4 vehicle to make getting about the farm easier, and that the couple were also looking forward to expanding their farming operation in order to secure a more stable future. Commenting on her life-changing win, Mandy said:
“I’ve become a millionaire, but the day I really hit the jackpot was the day I met my husband.”
Mandy Bowman said that she had been playing on Glossy Bingo for the past three years, but that she wasn’t much of a gambler and only had a “flutter once a month”. On the fateful night, Mandy said that she had just won £400 on her mobile phone, before deciding to give the Major Millions online slot game a spin. Nevertheless, the jackpot was only released after a bad start, and as she explains:
“When I switched onto the progressive jackpot, I started to lose. I was spinning away and I was down to my last £3. I thought there was no way I would win anything then. I spun again and all the symbols matched. I thought I was seeing things and then a message flashed up to say that I had won the jackpot. When I saw the number I thought it was a mistake or a joke – I really didn’t believe it.”
After scooping the nearly £1.2 million slots jackpot, Mandy said that she could hardly sleep for three consecutive nights, describing her incredible win as a “huge shock, but a very welcome one.”
