Ludovic Geilich Becomes Partypoker Sponsored Pro
July 23, 2018 11:56 amPartypoker’s team of ambassadors continues to grow, with Scotland’s Ludovic Geilich last week becoming the thirty-second pro to join the brand’s impressive stable of elite players. By comparison, PokerStars, the world’s largest online poker site, has just 23 professional members, while that number drops to around thirteen for 888poker.
PartyPoker has transformed from being a declining brand to a poker site at the forefront of the global poker market. It has also gained further kudos from its hugely popular partypoker LIVE event, and was crowned the ‘Poker Operator of the Year’ at the EGR Operator Awards in 2017. Having such a wide array of talent representing the brand therefore enables it to enjoy a greater level of market coverage across the globe as it seeks to expand its operation in regulated markets.
“I am really excited about joining the Party Poker team and working with them to increase their current online PLO offering,” commented Geilich. “Party Poker are making huge waves in the international poker scene and are constantly striving to look after the player.”
Ludovic Geilich
Scotland’s Ludovic Geilich, 30, cut his teeth playing poker online, and over the years has amassed $3,060,126 in winnings under the screen name ludovi333, the majority of which was won on PokerStars. Geilich also has an additional $2,202,527 in live earnings dating back to 2007, with his first major success recorded in 2013 after taking down the PokerStars Estrellas UKIPT Marbella Festival €1K Main Event for €130K ($171,789). That same year, he recorded a 4th place finish at the EPT UKIPT London Main Event for £193,340 ($313,482), with the $522,878 he won throughout 2013 turning out to be the high point of his live career to date.
Nevertheless, Geilich won a further $451,885 in 2017, including a runner-up finish at the €1,100 PokerStars Championship Prague for €184,000 ($216,920), and this year he looks like he may be on track to beat his all-time record having already racked up an additional $413,999 in winnings, a huge slice of which is accounted for by his victory in April at the €1,100 partypoker MILLIONS Grand Final Barcelona for €250,000 ($306,421).
Geographic Coverage
Ludovic Geilich’s addition fits well with Partypoker’s mission to recruit players from all around the world, with their current line up including pros from the US, Canada, Brazil, Germany, France, Russia, Poland, Hungary, and Finland, to name but a few countries. This includes such pros as Mike Sexton, Isaac Haxton, Bertrand Grospellier, Kristen Bicknell, Padraig Parkinson, and Marcel Luske.
Partypoker also now has pros representing all the countries which comprise the United Kingdom. This includes England number one Sam Trickett, Wales’ biggest money earner Roberto Romanello, and Irish veteran Padraig Parkinson, currently in 5th place on his country’s All Time Money List. Geilich’s signing completes the four countries which make up the UK, and he is presently Scotland’s third highest tournament earner, although that could all soon change going forward as he looks to gain ground on Niall Farrell ($5,082,422), and David Vamplew ($3,878,244).
PLO Specialist
As well as their geographic coverage, the players cover a wide range of different poker variants, with Geilich now becoming the brand’s Pot-limit Omaha specialist. He will subsequently be plying his skills both online and in the live arena starting September 29th at the £5 Million Guaranteed MILLIONS at the Dusk Till Dawn Casino.
In November, he will then travel to the PartyPoker LIVE Caribbean Poker Party, where he intends to play numerous tournaments, including the $5,300 buy-in $10M Guaranteed Millions World High Roller. Commenting upon his new home at PartyPoker, Geilich said:
“Absolutely delighted to be on board with the elite players at team PartyPoker! This has always been a dream of mine. Things are moving so fast and they will swiftly be back to No.1. So many positive changes listening to their players along with their massive guarantees. I’m thoroughly looking forward to this adventure and excited to be bringing my Pot Limit Omaha (be it PowerFest or cash I’m here to push it to the limit) knowledge to the team! It’s all about the players.”
