PokerStars Sweeps 2012 Best Workplace Award
May 28, 2012 2:22 pmEach year the Great Place to Work Institute hands out a number of awards to different companies based around the world, and a recent announcement by the organization has named PokerStars one of the Best Workplaces in the UK.
The world’s largest online poker room employs more than 1,200 people worldwide around half of which are based in London and the Isle of Man. When handing out awards an employee survey is one of the primary tools for rating organizations, with PokerStars staff indicating a high level of satisfaction with their employer. After winning the prestigious award, the Director of HR at PokerStars, Lynn Hunter commented:
“This is the first time we’ve participated in the Great Place to Work survey, so it’s especially gratifying to know that our efforts are contributing to the success of our business, and that employees consider PokerStars to be a Great Place to Work.”
As well as employing a diverse workforce, the company also offers an impressive range of benefits and developmental opportunities to its employees. Giving a further insight into the company’s employment strategy, Lynn Hunter, added:

PokerStars launched its operation on September 11, 2001 and has since grown into a multimillion dollar business with 49 million registered members worldwide with up to a quarter of a million players online at any one time. Over the years PokerStars has earned multiple industry awards and broken record after record, the latest of which was set at the 2012 Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP), which proved to be the biggest online poker festival in history with over half a million players and $65 million in prizes.
