PokerStars 2c/5c Cash Player Wins $56k For 50 Billionth Hand
September 23, 2010 7:15 amOne microstakes cash player just received an enormous boost to his bankroll after being dealt PokerStars’ 50 Billion Milestone Hand on Wednesday.
The player known online as ‘tvbie’ was seated at a six-man 2c/5c no limit Hold’em table with $12.62 in front of him when an announcement flashed up that the 50 Billionth Hand was about to be dealt at their table.
In the intervening time an army of railbirds tuned into table ‘Ornamenta’ to watch the milestone hand dealt and were treated to all six players going all-in, in order to make the most of the VPPs multiplier promotion as part of the PokerStars 50 billionth hand.
As well as winning the $50,500 automatic prize, ‘tvbie’ also picked up an additional $5,640 with his pocket Q’s, which equates to $500 for the 11.28 VIP Player Points (VPP) he had earned in the previous 50 hands.
The other players around the table also earned around $3,000 each as their VIP Player Points were multiplied by a factor of 50.
There was always going to be a very good chance a microstakes player would win the prize as a huge percentage of players on the site play at the $.05/$.10 levels and below.
The winner ‘tvbie’ certainly falls into that category as he has played almost 288k hands at the sites’ 0.05c/0.1c level and below over a 16 months period, with a return of -$114.
Suddenly with their expanding bankrolls, the jubilant microstakers will enjoy sitting on bankrolls way above their stakes and will also have the opportunity to make further gains come September 5th. As part of the celebrations the six players all received free ticket to the $5,200 buy-in World Championship of Online Poker, so watch out pros as the attack of the microgamers seems set to continue.
After the hand was completed, an army of railbirds and well-wishers flooded the chat box to congratulate the winners. Among the many Team PokerStars Pro members who joined the celebrations was Jason Mercier who said; “Really happy to see this hit in the micros!” while Ville Wahlbeck added: “It’s gonna be a pretty decent boost for the bankroll.”
