Micro Player Wins $24,300 For PokerStars 72 Billionth Hand
December 13, 2011 2:08 pmA micro-stakes poker player has just received a massive boost to his bankroll after winning PokerStars 72nd billionth hand for $24,300. In addition, five other players around the table also received a share of the nearly $100,000 prize pool.
Czech Republic player ‘Kozlicek_x’ was playing at a $.02/$.05 6-max cash game with $5 in front of him when the 72nd billionth hand was announced. All of the players around the table then went all-in with their holdings to generate a pot worth $27.30.
The board ran out 6-Q-7-A-9, with the players then revealing their assortment of hole cards. Significantly, ‘Kozlicek_x’ had been dealt pocket sevens to scoop the hand with a flopped set and so took the lion’s share of the prize pool. He also responded to his remarkable piece of good fortune by exclaiming; “Holy goat.”
As for the other players around the table, well even ‘7th_floor,’ who went all-in pre-flop with 2-3 offsuit, ended up winning a mouth-watering $14,730 for being at the right place at the right time. The final payouts were as follows:
Veles84 – $14,690
7th_floor – $14,730.00
v0ero0v – $14,730.00
silentfridge – $12,150.00
Kozlicek_x – $24,300.00
thevik – $14,730.00
Interestingly, PokerStars chose to disable all heads-up tables in advance of the the milestone hand being dealt. This was in response to the 70 billionth hand being won at a heads-up table in which the players were fast-folding their cards to improve their odds of winning the milestone hand.
PokerStars next promotion as part of its 10th year celebrations, is next week’s $215 Sunday Million tournament which will have a guaranteed $10 million prize pool with a minimum of $2 million going to the eventual winner.
