Matt Marafioti Accused Of Superuser Plot
August 15, 2012 11:38 amPoker pro Matt Marafioti is one of the most talented players in the game today with $2,090,919 in live tournament earnings and $1,446,846 playing tournaments online under the screen name Adzizzy.
However, the Canadian pro has been in the poker news for all the wrong reasons over the past few days after an alleged Skype conversation between him and Swedish player Samar Rahman was posted on the TwoPlusTwo forums. In the leaked post Marafioti and Rahman were apparently plotting to hack into the computer of fellow pro Will Molson in order to set-up a superuser sting. As the alleged Skype post explains:
“Let’s def get molswi. I can access his computers I think and he will play me all day.”
Altering Skype conversations is easy to do and so it is impossible to verify the validity of the forum member’s claim. Nevertheless, forum members have been trying to add credence to their claim by highlighting that Samar Rahman is rumoured to have computer hacking skills and also had connections with Mohamed Kowssarie, who in 2007 supposedly stole millions from Patrik Antonius and Johnny Lodden by using a Trojan virus enabling him to see their hole cards. Nothing was proved and all allegations denied yet still the rumours persist.
The latest accusation to hit Matt Marafioti is already 99 pages long on TwoPlusTwo and was initially started by “cbt5000,” who posted the alleged conversation between Marafioti and Rahman sent to him by an anonymous source. A further extract of the supposed conversation by Marafioti reads:
“i cant wait till after pca..we r gona **** these mother ****ers..and every1 wants to play me HU..**** them all..they are all ****ing pieces of ****and i have nothing to lose..i dont care about money..one day i will put a gun to my own head and blow trigger cuz of poker and what its made me..i hate poker and every1 in it..they are all ****.”
As mentioned, there is no clear evidence to validate the accusations but in the meantime the topic on the TwoPlusTwo forums shows no signs of abating. The alleged conversation and thread can be followed here.
