Isildur1 Loses $5,425 To URnotINdangr In SuperStar Showdown Part 1

Yesterday’s SuperStar Showdown part 1 saw old rivals Viktor “Isildur1” Blom and Scott “URnotINdangr” Palmer face off against each other over four tables of $50/$100 NLHE.
The 2,500 hand match produced the quickest finish of all the Challenges to date and after just four hours and one minute of relentless aggression, “URnotINdangr” emerged the winner by a mere $5,425, or just over half a buy-in.
Going into Sunday’s match Scott Palmer, who plays under the name “URnotINdanger” at PokerStars and  “URnotINdanger2” at Full Tilt, was on a bit of a downswing having dropped around $1.4 million between the two sites over the past few months.
Some of Scott Palmer’s latest tweets have reflected mounting frustration at his online results, having written, “Fking hate poker…running so bad lately its fking joke.”
After triumphing in the first round of his two part showdown against Isildur1, Palmer ironically congratulated himself on his small win but seemed to take encouragement from his overall performance, having posted:
“Just won the 1st superstar showdown vs Isildur. DOMINATED with a whopping 5500 win! Definitely need to readjust a little bit but played well.”
URnotINdangr started the better of the two pros and was $50,300 ahead after 171 hands played before the tide changed. URnotINdangr held 4-3 on a J-4-3 flop to Isildur1’s pocket queens but a Q on the river helped Blom drag the  $32,100 pot to mount his comeback.
Blom then won the next three all in pots to go ahead by $3,800 and managed to further pull ahead by $41,325, before Palmer reversed the trend by winning a $42,950 pot with a queen high flush to Isildur1’s pair of kings.
The seesaw battle then continued, swinging one way then the other until with just 100 hands to go Isildur1 made a massive 3-bet river bluff into urnotindangr’s flopped full house to eventually close the match out down $5,425.
Looking forward to next Sunday’s round 2, the duo then wrapped their session up by typing:
Isildur1: gg
urnotindangr: gg very funmatch thinking not so fun with swings
Isildur1: 🙂
Isildur1: yep
Isildur1: cu next friday
urnotindangr: cu gl
