Isildur1 Loses $26,500 To Negreanu In Swingy Showdown 2

After their first encounter when Isildur1 managed to bust Daniel Negreanu for his full $150,000 bankroll in record time, last night the Canadian pro returned to the arena once again, this time more determined than ever to avenge his earlier drumming.
Giving an insight after last Sunday’s Superstar Showdown match, Negreanu admitted that he was not only running terribly but also conceded that his 20 year old opponent did a good job of figuring out his play.
This time, however, Daniel made some adjustments to his game which seemed to have paid off, including replacing his preflop min-raises with standard three-bets. The end result was a swingy session ending in a $26,500 victory for “KidPoker,” who was keen after the match to thank “ReynoldsXO @nutsinho & Tom Marchese for coming by the house this week and going over last weeks match. VERY helpful.”
Half way through their 2,500 hand match of $50/$100 NL, it must have seemed a bad case of deja-vu for Negreanu, 36, after losing $120,000 of his stack to leave him just $30,000 behind.
However, in a remarkable twist of events the second half of the match belonged squarely to Negreanu, who later labelled his own comeback as “sick.”
Starting Negreanu’s comeback was dragging a $17,600 pot with a better two pair than Isildur1, before soon after winning with A-8 against the Swede’s pocket nines.
Negreanu then took a $30,400 pot holding pocket queens to Isildur1’s J-T and as the fight back continued relentlessly, Negreanu found himself ahead in the match for the first time with just 350 hands remaining.
The lead then changed several times, but with 7 hands left and a $14,950 lead Negreanu was dealt pocket aces to Isildur1’s pocket fours and so picked up the final $20,000 pot to close the match up by $26,500.
Despite Negreanu’s victory against Isildur1 in yesterdays Superstar Showdown, overall the pros have played 3,941 hands over the two sessions with Isildur1 winning $123,505.
Nevertheless, tournament specialist Negreanu can be rightfully pleased with his latest triumph as was reflected by his cheerful comment to Viktor “Isildur1” Blom at the end of their match.
Isildur1: gg, nice comeback!
KidPoker: I won? wow sick! gg man thanks
KidPoker: I broke so much stuff in this room the first half
KidPoker: my assistant has lots of cleaning to do lol jkjk
