Isildur1 To Battle Isaac Haxton In $1 Million Showdown
March 30, 2012 1:01 pmThe PokerStars Superstar Showdown has been running since December 2010, during which time Viktor “Isildur1” Blom has recorded 9 wins and 4 losses out of 13 matches, amassing $534,090 in profits along the way.
However, some of those individual losses were matches played over two rounds, such that out of his 11 opponent’s faced only Isaac “philivey2694” Haxton is ahead overall.
In their first encounter played at stakes of $50/$100, Haxton made a profit of $41,701, which he then followed up a year later with another battle this time at stakes of $100/$200, in which he won $5,093 after first digging himself out of a $100,000 hole.
The rivalry between these two online sensations is obvious, and so now the young pros have upped the ante for a third encounter, which will see both players putting up $500,000 a piece in a winner takes all Superstar Showdown. This time around, however, there will be no match limit of 2,500 hands but instead the players will play four tables of $200/400 NL for four hours a day until one of the players has lost his complete stack.
The $1 Million Superstar Showdown will get underway on Saturday, March 31st, at 1300 ET (1700 GMT) and fans wanting to catch the action can do so by logging in to their PokerStars account and using the “search for a Team PokerStars Pro” function to find the players. Be sure not to miss it, and in the meantime I will leave you with some telling statistics:
