Isildur1 Now Up $1.7m At PokerStars

In an exciting weekends of high-stakes action, Viktor “Isildur1” Blom has won a staggering $1.4 million on Pokerstars over  the past 48 hours, to take his total winnings on the site to an impressive $1,713,274.
Blom had been languishing in the +/-$400k range since joining the site in December, 2010, but his latest upswing has now taken him to heights more reminiscent of his extraordinary run at Full Tilt back in 2009, against such players as Tom Dwan, Patrik Antonius and Phil Ivey.

The action at PokerStars’ high-stakes cash tables had been hotting up recently with top players such as Isildur1, Gavin “gavz101” Cochrane, Ilari “Ilari FIN” Sahamies, Phil “MrSweets28” Galfond, and Andrew “Foucault” Brokos adding to the post-Black Friday excitement on the site.
However, the player contributing by far the most to Isildur1’s recent resurgence was Ilari “Ilari FIN” Sahamies, who lost over $1 million to the Swede playing mostly $100/$200 stakes.
Since becoming a Team Pokerstars Pro, Viktor “Isildur1” Blom had been steadily working his way up through the different levels from $25/$50 to his present level of mainly $100/$200. This weekends action has now vindicated the hours and effort he has put in at PokerStars’ virtual tables over the past year and this might just give him the boost he needs to now go on to even greater heights.
On the other hand, Sahamies $1 million losing session comes as a major blow to the Finn, whose bankroll had been on the up until the Swede put paid to his recent run. As Sahamies then went on to explain in his blog:
“Just finished games against Isildur..came down from top 1,3 million in 2 days and felt really bad already when I was down 200k from the top…Don’t know why I continued after 500k down….really don’t know…I played very weak and that was fair I lost my money. Now my girlfriend has to use sunglasses few days. Only good thing those money went to Isildur, no any nit guys. I was little bit unlucky too but he played much better than me so no explains.I start to play 25 50 [$25/$50 Pot-Limit Omaha] next week.I think I’ll go some pokertrips too this year…but fcuk I hate poker. GL.”
