Record £5.9m Online Slots Jackpot Struck

Record £5.9m Online Slots Jackpot StruckSoftware company Micro Gaming’s progressive online slot game called Mega Moolah had been building steadily over the past few months and had reached unprecedented levels as gamblers tried their luck at hitting the elusive mega jackpot.
However, one lucky punter is now celebrating big style after releasing the bonus over the weekend, to take down the massive jackpot worth a staggering £5,882,870. The latest win is a record for the Casino Rewards network, who have now paid out a total of $52.8 million from its progressive jackpots.
Commenting on the huge win, a spokesperson for Casino Rewards said: “We are blown away by last night’s £5.8 million win! It’s even bigger than K.E.’s $5.5 million win at Blackjack Ballroom. We’ve seen a massive increase in play on over the past few months while the jackpot was high, which all contributed to it getting even bigger … £5.8 million is the biggest progressive jackpot payout we’ve ever seen!”
The previous record was held by Georgios from Greece, who on 11th May 2009, won  €6,374,599 on the Mega Moolah while playing at the River Belle Casino. Prior to that a year earlier, Klaus from Finland won more than $5.5 million at Blackjack Ballroom, later commenting:
“When I saw 5,556,753 flash on my screen I though it was a US phone number. It couldn’t be a jackpot, I must be mistaken! So I just got up from my table, went outside to clear my head, and then came back in again for another look..and noticed $5.5 million sitting in my casino account.”
So far there has been no official response from the newest holder of the biggest payout title, but hopefully we’ll hear from him or her shortly. In the meantime the Mega Moolah jackpot has been reset to its minimum payout of one million dollars and is expected to rise at a rate of up to two hundred thousand dollars per month until the next lucky winner is found.
