If you play poker on the 888 Poker platform and are looking for access to better sports betting options you may be In luck.
888 Holdings, the owner of 888 Poker, added to its growing online gambling holdings earlier this week by purchasing online sportsbook BetBright for $19.83 million.
This is the third high profile acquisition by 888 since December and extends its reach across all online gambling avenues including online poker, casino games, bingo and now sports betting.
“This acquisition of a high-quality and scalable sportsbook is an exciting milestone for 888,” Itai Pazner, Chief Executive of 888 said in a release. “It gives the Group the missing piece in our proprietary product and technology portfolio and will enable 888 to own proprietary, end-to-end solutions across the four major online gaming verticals.”
Panzer also added “With 888Sport becoming an increasingly established and popular worldwide sports betting destination, we believe it is the right time to take ownership of our full sports betting proposition. We are confident that this acquisition will increase the Group’s long-term prospects and differentiation in the growing global sports betting market.”
Back in December 888 took over full control of the All American Poker Network in a $28 million deal. In that deal 888 bought the remaining 53 per cent of the All American Poker Network, adding it to the 47 per cent it already owned.
In February 888 announced a $24 million deal with the JPJ Group to purchase several of their online bingo brands and increase their position in the online bingo market.
888 currently operates in three US states, Nevada, Delaware and New Jersey. No announcements were made on how the new deal with BetBright might affect 888’s operations in America.
However, at the end of 2018 in their year end summary, 888 did state they were looking at ways to continue expanding their offerings in the US following the legalization of sports betting.
