Zombie Themed Outbreak in Las Vegas!
August 24, 2017 11:12 amFollowing the success of the “Fear the Walking Dead: Survival,” attraction which opened this month in Downtown Las Vegas, MGM Resorts has now decided to jump on the zombie bandwagon by announcing the launch of its own “Zombie Survival” themed experience starting September 8th at the virtual reality arena of its Level Up lounge.
As its name indicates, the “Fear the Walking Dead: Survival” attraction is based upon the AMC Networks’ two hit TV zombie shows, namely “The Walking Dead” and its spin-off show “Fear the Walking Dead”. As local resident Brian Escorcia commented after visiting the attraction stated:
“It was entertaining and frightening all at once. The setting was pretty lifelike, as if there was an actual zombie apocalypse.”
As realistic as the attraction may be, MGM Resorts is hoping to take the experience to a whole new level with its virtual reality option, which it has designed in collaboration with VR technology company Zero Latency. The immersive multi-player experience will take place within a 2,000-square-foot thunderdome, and has a high social element focus designed to appeal to millennials. As Zero Latency CEO Tim Ruse explains:
“When it comes to playing games, and exploring new worlds in virtual reality, more people means more fun. Technology can often be isolating but we are determined to continue to design games and experiences that bring people together to have mind-blowing VR adventures and forge real memories that can last a lifetime.”
While Zombie Survival will be a key experience featured at the Level Up lounge, there will also be a number of other options available for players looking for less zombie themed activities, including “Singularity,” which involves battling against killer robots situated at a secret military base, and “Engineerium,” which involves solving puzzles while floating on platforms high above “a fantastical world with flying whales, giant parrots and colorful creatures.”
