Woman Wins Huge $1.3 Jackpot At Idaho Casino

Woman Wins $1.3 Jackpot At Idaho CasinoOne lucky lady from Spokane, Washington is celebrating her good fortune after hitting a huge jackpot at the Coeur d’Alene Casino in Idaho on Friday, 31st July. Following her $1.3 million win, the biggest in the casino’s history, the venue’s Chief Executive Officer Dave Matheson said:
“We will never be sure who is more excited about this, the winner or our staff. We have ‘welcomed home’ this lady for over two decades, so a win for her is a win for all of us and that’s exactly how it feels.”
Understandably, the jackpot winner has chosen to stay anonymous, but it is known that the unnamed lady is retired, and has been visiting the Coeur d’Alene Casino frequently since 1993. Her record-breaking win on the “Friends” progressive slots machine was subsequently confirmed at 2 a.m. on Saturday, and commenting on the life-changing event, she said:
“I love my casino. I love, love, love it. It’s been my home away from home and the employees I’ve known have always been special. I know many of the workers here and they’re just great. I feel right at home whenever I’m there.”
As to how she intends to spend her new found fortune, a few visits to watch her favorite Gonzaga basketball team play is no doubt in her plans, as well as a vacation to revisit Paris, France at some stage in the future. In the past, she has been put off remaking the journey as airplanes make her feel claustrophobic, but at least she can now afford a more spacious first class seat to make the journey a pleasant one. Nevertheless, she downplayed any suggestions she might go on a spending spree, and insisted that much of the money would instead be put to good use.
“I won’t want this kind of money to be just sitting there to be spent. I want a good portion of it to go somewhere where it will do some good.”
The Coeur d’Alene Casino is one of five Native American owned casinos in the state of Idaho. The venue also has a number of other slot machines with progressive jackpots currently around the $1 million mark, and as casino spokesman Bob Bostwick, explains:
“And we still have seven more of those out there. This place has been buzzing all weekend.”
