Progressive Jackpot Hit At Mystic Lake Casino For $766,000

Progressive Jackpot Hit At Mystic Lake Casino For $766,000Dick Warwick, 60, was celebrating Monday, after scooping the $766,094 progressive slots jackpot at Mystic Lake Casino Hotel.
At 10:48 p.m. on July 12, Warwick put two $20 bills into the Wild Cherry slot machine at the Minnesota casino, only to see three cherries in a row come up soon after.
“When it came, it seemed like it was a dream. That disbelief, thinking it can’t be me. It has not sunk in as to what this means because it’s such a large amount.”
Hardly able to believe his own luck, it’s only natural it took still longer for the St. Paul resident to convince his own family and friends of his good fortune.
When he told his wife Martha, she replied; “That’s not true, it can’t be true,” and later when he spoke to one of his best friend, the reply he got was, “No, you didn’t win that, you’re lying. Nobody wins that amount.”
The 60-year-old housing inspector was only 6 months away from retiring when he hit the massive progressive jackpot, but still managed to put in a brief appearance at work on the Tuesday. Still riding an incredible high, Dick treated his co-workers to a breakfast of bagels and orange juice at the office but told them he couldn’t stay and disappeared soon after.
Dick Warwick said he was now looking forward to using the money to prepare for his retirement, renovate his old Victorian house, as well as fund his two children through college.
He also explained that he plans on doing some charitable deeds with his winnings and said:
“I would love to go down and see New Orleans, do a little work on the coast, clean up some of that wonderful oil, pitch in, make a difference — it’s a wonderful thing.”
