The Mentalist David Meade Wins $1 Million Playing Roulette In Vegas
December 11, 2014 12:19 pmAccording to a news report in the Belfast Telegraph, mentalist David Meade successfully managed to beat a Las Vegas casino out of $1 million playing roulette. Fortunately for the casino the experiment was part of a challenge to test his powers of mental acuity, something he apparently passed with flying colours, before promptly returning his winnings to the casino.
The Irish mentalist had placed his reputation on the line by taking on the challenge, but his courage paid off and he has now been acknowledged as the first from his profession to accomplish the remarkable feat. Details as to how he was able to pull it off will be revealed on a US special to be shown on TV later today called ‘David Meade: Million Dollar Bet’. In the meantime, Meade had this to say:
“It was the most terrifying thing I have ever done and a foolhardy risk. I convinced everyone I could do it and under no circumstances was I sure whatsoever. It is a world first. Every mentalist out there has tried it but no one has ever done it before.”
David Meade has carved out a successful career for himself as an international business researcher and lecturer, with a focus on psychology and consumer behaviour. He also has 20 years experience as a mentalist and regularly performs in a live show showcasing his impressive skills. Talking about the risks he took taking on his casino challenge, Meade explained:
“I don’t know if it was bravery or stupidity or a bit of both in equal measure and while I was absolutely certain it could work, I wasn’t certain it would work. My whole career was depending on it and not just my TV career – I do a lot of motivational work with some of the biggest companies in the world. My reputation would have been in tatters if I hadn’t cracked it.”
Bookings are currently available for the ‘David Meade Live Tour 2015’ and the mentalist has even offered a bonus of £1000 to anyone in the audience who is able to lie to him successfully.
