Phil Hellmuth Fumes As He Is Dumped From WSOPE Event

Phil Hellmuth Fumes As He Is Dumped From WSOPE EventRarely a player to be gracious in defeat, Phil Hellmuth was fuly steaming in Cannes before ignobly being dumped out of the WSOPE €3,250 NLHE Shootout event in 12th place for €5,428 ($7,082).
Looking to capture a 13th WSOP bracelet, the ‘Poker Brat’ was one of just 18 players remaining in the event when he tangled in a hand against Roman Romanovskyi. The Ukrainian managed to squeeze one more value bet out of Hellmuth holding K-9 on a K-4-3-2-9 board, which didn’t go down well with the US pro.
“I fly all the way here for some monkey to try and give me all his chips. What is this?” fumed Hellmuth, as everyone else in the vicinity seemed rather amused at Hellmuth’s frustrations.
Then with 13 players remaining, Hellmuth once again quickly called a river bet from Romanovskyi on a 9-4-4-2-8 board, only to see he had been done once more, this time by J-9. On this occasion, however, Romanovskyi cut Hellmuth’s latest tirade short by stating, “Nice snap call,” which only incensed Hellmuth further, who retorted:
“You wanna make fun of me? This f****** player is the worst ever!”
Eventually, with 12 players left Hellmuth was reduced to a short-stack and even tweeted, “I feel so beat up, tilted, and just awful right now…Bad beat after bad beat. it’s a miracle I’m still in, albeit w 5 big blinds…” Soon after, Hellmuth pushed holding K-10 and was called by his nemesis Romanovskyi  with A-5. The jack high board did no favours to the WSOP legend who subsequently hit the rail, exclaiming in disbelief: “I play like a 12-time world champ and I’m out.”
Obviously it wasn’t long before Hellmuth was venting his frustration on his twitter account, stating: “Sucks that I’m out in 12th…Put my chips in SO GOOD, but that’s poker. Need a walk, a nap, a Cappuccino, then str8 into WSOPE event #5.”
So far at WSOPE 2012, Phil Hellmuth has cashed twice, his other money finish coming in the €2,500 NLHE Six Handed, where he was eliminated in 24th for €4,887 ($6,376). In addition, Hellmuth is currently in action at the WSOPE Event#5: €10,450 Mixed Max NL Hold’em, and with just 16 players left is already guaranteed a minimum €20,443 payout.
