WSOP 2016: Robert Mizrachi Wins 4th Career Gold Bracelet
June 7, 2016 9:32 amRobert Mizrachi is off to a blistering start at this year’s WSOP, after the Florida pro overcame a field of 87 players at Event 3: $10k Seven Card Stud Championship to claim a gold bracelet, and a top prize worth $242,662.
Mizrachi won his first career WSOP bracelet back in 2007 after taking down the $10k Pot Limit Omaha Championship for $768,889, and over the past three years has added a further three bracelets to his tally, including $1,500 Dealer’s Choice Six-Handed (2014), and $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better (2015). Commenting on his latest stunning victory, the 37 year-old pro with $5,941,572 in live tournament earnings commented:
“This one was very exciting because it’s a very prestigious game. This game has been played a long time, so it’s very satisfying to win such a prestigious tournament.”
The $10k Seven Card Stud Championship featured a prize pool worth $817,800, and amongst the notable pros subsequently seeing a return on their buy-ins was Felipe Ramos in 14th ($14,500), Jeff Lisandro in 13th ($14,500), Stephen Chidwick in 11th ($16,638), Adam Friedman in 10th ($19,727), and Rodney Pardey in 9th ($19,727).
Mizrachi then entered a talent stacked final table in pole position, and after David Benyamine (6th), Ted Forrest (4th), and George Danzer (3rd) hit the rail, he faced off against Matt Grapenthien for the title. Three hours of action later, and Grapenthien had to settle for a runner-up finish worth $149,976, while Mizrachi took home the bracelet.
Robert Mizrachi now boasts one more WSOP bracelet than his brother Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi (3), although his younger sibling has more than double his earnings at $14,874,469. Youngest brother, Eric, has earned $235,467 since his first tournament cash back in 2004, and will be hoping to join his brothers in the bracelet department at this year’s WSOP in las Vegas.
