WSOP 2010 Main Event Results: Key Facts And Top 50 Positions

As the 2010 Main Event wraps up another hugely successful World Series Of Poker, here are some key facts and results to emerge from the prestigious Event 57: $10,000 Main Event, which concluded Monday night in Vegas.
Canadian pro Jonathan Duhamel was only the 6th non-American player to win the prestigious tournament since its inception in 1971. UK player Mansour Matloubi was the first in 1990 ($895,000), followed by Ireland’s Noel Furlong in 1999 ($1m), Spain’s Juan Carlos Mortensen in 2001 ($1.5m), Australia’s Joe Hachem in 2005 ($7.5m), Denmark’s Peter Eastgate in 2008 ($9,152,416) and now Canada’s Jonathan Duhamel in 2010 ($8,944,310).
The 41st WSOP awarded Jonathan Duhamel the third largest Main Event first prize ever, at $8,944,310. The biggest prize of $12 million was won by Jamie Gold in 2006, followed by $9,152,416 in 2008 by Peter Eastgate.
Out of a starting field of 7,319 players, those finishing from 747 to 676 received the minimum pay-out at this year’s event of $19,263.
Some of the notable past winners to cash in at this year’s Main Event included 1987 and 1988 Champion Johnny Chan in 156th ($57,102) and 1998 Champion Scotty Nguyen in 209th place ($48,847).
Also, this year’s tournament saw a record set which may never be broken, when all four Mizrachi brothers cashed in at the Main Event, with Michael eventually finishing in 5th place ($2,332,992).
Finally, since 1997 no player has managed to win the WSOP Main Event more than once. The select few who achieved this incredible feat in the past include Johnny Moss (1971, 1974), Doyle Brunson (1976, 1977), Stu Ungar (1980, 1981, 1997) and Johnny Chan (1987, 1988).
