Top Poker Tweets from 2017 WSOP (Week 2)
June 12, 2017 10:16 amThe 2017 World Series of Poker kicked-off on May 30th at the Rio All Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, with two weeks of the seven week-long poker tournament extravaganza already in the bag. Looking back on last week’s action, here are a selection of top tweets coming from some of the game’s brightest talents taking part in the Series, starting with the stuff of dreams:
Daniel Negreanu
“When your dreams are about whether to draw two or stay pat and snow, you know you are smack dab in the middle of the WSOP grind.”
Matthew Manthey
“In 2005 you were kind enough to share some advice to me. It wasn’t to draw or stay pat … it was to fold … to you lol. Go get #7! #WSOP.”
Phil Hellmuth
“As I lay down for a nap, I’m still having nightmares about the bluff @elkypoker put on me in $111,111 One Drop!! I induced him, but FOLDED! He, @elkypoker handed me the chip lead in “One Drop,” and my instincts KNEW it! Whenever my eyes close, I think, “Raise that obvious bluff!” For the record, @elkypoker is a great guy and terrific poker player and I still have love for him, just mad at myself for folding! #TrustIt”
Needless to say, poker players around the globe had been waiting with great excitment for the annual poker tournament showcase to get underway, and now that it’s in full swing, and with so many events to choose from, they are naturally taking full advantage of the packed schedule on offer. As Todd Brunson tweeted last week:
“It’s hard to play over 100 hours of poker in a week while trying to help manage a restaurant at the same time, so I’ll take the day off… And when I say take the day off, I mean the day after they bury me. Til then I’m gonna fight like a caged tiger to get every chip available!”
Here are some other amusing tweets posted by the game’s biggest names recently:
Jason Mercier
“Busted dealers choice. The good news is that I don’t have to play badacey again for a while.”
Shaun Deeb
“First ever 3 figure WSOP cash and hopefully my last, never playing this low of a buyin again.”
Jimmy Fricke
“Got to the Rio way too early for day 2. Anyone want a random railbird until 2?”
