2025 WSOP Main Event draws third largest crowd ever

The 2025 World Series of Poker $10,000 Main Event drew 9,735 entries, making it the third-largest Main event in WSOP history.

The large field failed to surpass the record-setting crowd of 10,112 that was set just last year. That was a decrease of 3.7 percent compared to last year. It also failed to reach and surpass the 10,043 entries from the 2023 main event. However, when compared to the previous record of 8,773 entries set in 2006, this year’s field was 11 percent larger.

This year’s 9,735 entries resulted in a $90,535,500 prize pool. The top 1,461 finishers will be paid with the eventual winner pocketing $10 million, marking the seventh time the winner has cashed seven-figures. The minimum cash in this year’s event is $15,000.

If you want to crack the $1 million prize threshold you must finish in the Top 9, while any player finishing 89^th or better will receive at least $100,000.

The main event final table is scheduled to be played over two days starting on July 15. The main event winner will be crowned the following day on July 16. Heading into Day 3 action defending champion Jonathan Tamayo is the only former main event winner still standing.
