3-times WSOPC Winner Michael Rosenbach Wins HPT Event For $180,689

3-times WSOPC Winner Michael Rosenbach Wins HPT Event For $180,689Michael Rosenbach may have only cashed in at eight tournaments since November, 2011, but the 30-year-old poker pro has won an astonishing four of those events, picking-up a trio of WSOP Circuit gold rings along the way.
In his latest victory, Michael Rosenbach added a Heartland Poker Tour ring to his collection, after taking down the HPT Thunder Valley Casino Resort for $180,689, having first bested a field of 542 player over three long days of action.
The $1,650 Main Event attracted an impressive array of both amateurs and pros alike to create a prize pool worth $ 785,610. Amongst the big names competing, but falling short of a money prize was such notables as 2013 November Niner JC Tran and WSOP commentator Lon McEachern.
By the time the final table of nine had been set, two women remained in contention, Lori Bare and Kirby Nunn, as well as Turlock poker room owner Joe Fernandez. Also featured at the final table was Andrew Higgins, William Chao, Yotam Shmuelov, Kevin O’Donnell, and, of course, Michael Rosenbach.
Eventually, Rosenbach would then progress all the way through to heads-up play holding a 12 million to 4.3 million chip advantage over Mel Weiner. Nevertheless, despite Weiner winning the first two hands of their heads-up battle, the defining hand was then played after Weiner was dealt Kd-4s to his opponent’s 4d-2s, and decided to move all-in over Rosenbach’s raise on a 10d-6d-3c-5d board .
Unfortunately for Weiner, the 6h river failed to improve his hand and so he had to content himself with a runner-up finish worth $110,457, while Michael Rosenbach picked-up the HPT title, plus a  $3,000 package into the HPT Championship.
Impressively, though, just a few days earlier Mel Weiner finished 3rd at the $1,500 HPT Los Angeles for $75,800, to take his live career earnings to $.1,391,213 and commenting later on his impressive recent run, said:
“I don’t know how I made back-to-back Final Tables. I was on another planet; the cards were just hitting me.”
