Poker After Dark The Cash Game Airs Tonight On NBC

June 8th, 2010 Author: M. Rhodes

Poker After Dark The Cash Game Airs Tonight On NBCPoker After Dark starts airing its hugely popular cash game format on NBC today, and boast a top flight line-up of pros including  Phil Hellmuth, Phil Laak, Eli Elezra, Tom Dwan, Doyle Brunson, and Gus Hansen.

With the blinds set at $200/$400, $100 antes and a minimum buy-in of $100,000, the sparks are sure to fly as this group of pros manoevre to take advantage of their opposition around the table.

One player bound to be the target of many a move will be the ever entertaining Phil Hellmuth, who likes to constantly remind the other players about his self professed status as ‘the best no-limit hold’em player in the world.’

That may ring more true for a tournament rather than a cash game set-up, and the other players seem to derive extra delight in setting Phil straight on that fact. That and the fact that no-one seems to feel the pain of losing, or a bad beat more than Phil.

Tom “durrrr” Dwan will certainly be a big draw in the game and his super-aggressive style and willingness to take risks will surely be a constant concern for his fellow players. One pro looking forward to the opportunity to mix it up with Dwan once more, will be Eli Elezra who, commenting on Dwan said:

“He’s an action guy. That’s what I love about him on High Stakes Poker and the Poker After Dark cash game. I like a guy that gives me action and I give him action back. He’s not a guy that’ll sit down and wait for aces. So we know he’s a gambler.”

With  Phil Laak, Doyle Brunson, Gus Hansen and later David “Viffer” Peat, joining the game, there is sure to be a lively and entertaining atmosphere, with plenty of action that will be a joy for poker fans to watch.

The first episode aired on NBC on Monday at 2:05 a.m., and will run in the same time slot Monday to Fridays for two weeks.
