January 22, 2015 12:13 pm888poker Ambassador Xuan Liu has finished runner-up to Australian Sean O’Reilly at the Aussie Millions $1,150 NLHE 6-Max, after going into the heads-up phase at a more than 5-1 chip disadvantage. Following Xuan Liu’s impressive performance which earned her $71,500, the Canadian pro now takes her live tournament winnings to $1,522,301, later tweeting:
“You guys are awesome. Thanks so much for the virtual and live rail <333 very happy with my 2nd place, really! More to come…”
The $1,150 NLHE 6-Max attracted 496 players to the Crown Poker Room in Melbourne, Australia, and amongst the notable pros then seeing a return on their investment was Andrew Hinrichsen (43rd), Ash Warner (36th), Martin Finger (34th), Anthony Hachem (33rd), Rory Young (32nd), Tony Hachem (30th), Dennis Huntly (29th) and Tom Grigg (23rd).
By the time the final table of seven had been set, Sean O’Reilly was the chip leader, with Xuan Liu in second spot, and the Canadian pro (K-Q) then eliminated a short-stacked Robbie Fisher-O’Brien (7-5) from the competition in 7th for $10,500, before doing likewise to Shivan Abdine in 5th ($30,500).
Meanwhile, Sean O’Reilly (7-5) took care of Adam Jarvis (K-K) in 6th ($20,500), David Urban in 4th ($41,000), and Bobby Zhang in 3rd ($52,500) to go heads-up against Xuan Liu for the title.
However, Sean O’Reilly’s big stack put Xuan Liu under instant pressure, and after he shoved the button with K-2 Xuan Liu (A-10) made the call, but was then eliminated after the board ran out 6-8-2-A-K.
Final Table Resullts:
