WSOP ME Finalist Josh Beckley Wins 2015 WSOPC Florida

WSOP Finalist Josh Beckley Wins 2015 WSOPC FloridaBack in July, Josh Beckley reached the WSOP Main Event final table, and in so doing locked up a guaranteed prize of $1,001,020, with the promise of further riches to come. Just a few weeks away from the competition’s November 8th restart, the New Jersey pro has just given his confidence an extra boost by taking down a tournament at the WSOP Circuit Palm Beach Kennel Club in Florida for $22,349. Following his impressive victory, the first by any 2015 November Niner during their interim break, the 25 year-old commented:
“It’s definitely an ego boost. It makes me more confident with my game. It might also show the other [November Niners] that I can win a tournament.”
The $365 Monster Stack event attracted 317 players to create a prize pool worth $95,100. Josh Beckley subsequently cruised through to Day 2 of the tournament virtually unrecognized by his fellow competitors, although that situation was soon altered after he reached the final table. As he explains:
“Nobody Day 1 knew who I was. Everybody knew [on Day 2]. I don’t think it made a difference. I think maybe I got a tiny bit of a respect and a little bit more folds.”
Beckley then managed to progress all the way through to heads-up play where he faced Aric Pluskat for the title, with the battle eventually decided after Beckley’s A-Q took out Pluskat’s A-J to win a prestigious gold WSOPC ring. When asked how the victory may help him ahead of his Main Event showdown in November, Beckley said:
“It’s basically final table strategy. The money is different and people are playing differently here, but I still have to consider a couple things. I think I’m fine tuning for the [Main Event].”
Final Table Results:
1 Joshua Beckley $22,349
2 Aric Pluskat $13,818
3 Sean Syed Shah $10,036
4 Bobby Hodson $7,413
5 Joshua Sperko $5,565
6 Steven Sanzone $4,244
7 Jonah Miller $3,288
8 V. Dancharnjitt $2,585
9 Adam Ruen $2,063
