UK Pro Luke Brereton Wins Florida Event For $154,954

UK Pro Luke Brereton Wins Florida Event For $154,954 Hailing from the UK, Luke Brereton prefers these days to divide his time between his English home in Manchester, and his apartment in Hallandale, South Florida. Part of the attraction, apart from glorious sunshine and beautiful beaches, is the lively poker scene, which includes tournaments like the Isle Poker Open at the Isle Casino Pompano.
The British pro subsequently entered the $1,090 buy-in event on October 23rd and a couple of days later emerged a top of the 557 player field to capture the title, and give his bankroll an impressive boost of $154,954. With his latest victory in Florida, his biggest score to date, Brereton now takes his live tournament earnings to $361,221.
The Isle Poker Open main event attracted a good sized field to  create a prize pool worth $595,990, and amongst the notable players seeing a return on their investment was David Diaz in 27th ($3,874), Tam Nguyen in 24th ($3,874), and Joshua Hillock in 12th ($6,854).
After the final table had reached three-handed play, Luke Brereton and Barry Hutter subsequently rejected a deal by Javier Sarache, who then went all-in six times in a row to take the lead. Two hours later, however, Brereton eliminated Javier Sarache in 3rd ($59,003) to take a substantial lead over Barry Hutter into heads-up.
Less than a dozen hands later, and it was all over after Brereton’s 10-10 held up against Hutter’s 7-7 to consign Hutter to a runner-up finish worth $91,186. Meanwhile, Luke Brereton was awarded the title, and commenting on the final stage of the tournament, said:
