Twitch Streamer Wins Sunday Million for $122K

Last weekend, Austrian online player “TheFan83” took down the $215 PokerStars Sunday Million for $122,000, and further more, he did so while streaming live on his Twitch channel.
While Doug Polk still holds the record for the biggest poker Twitch win of $455,000, TheFan83 winning a six-figure sum while competing in the week’s most prestigious online tournament will certainly mark a high point in the Austrian’s professional career. Following scoring his biggest victory to date, TheFan83 now boosts his online earnings to $1,224,488, with his other previous big wins including capturing both the PokerStars Sunday Warmup and Sunday Kickoff.
The $215 PokerStars Sunday Million attracted 5,218 players to create a prize pool worth $1,043,600, and four and a half hours into the event the bubble burst allowing the remaining 728 competitors to at least see a return on their money. A further six and half hours would then ensue before the final table was reached.
At this stage, TheFan83 was second in chips only to digopapel, but he soon added to his stack after being dealt J-9 and eliminating J.C. “PrtyPsux” Alvarado (A-6) in 9th. TheFan83 followed up by doing likewise to FeaNoR4eG (7th), 4rebmun (5th), and tha_winnah (4th), after which a deal was struck in which digopapel locked up $112,734, TheFan83 was guaranteed at least $102,000, and KasparovAKs $91,000, with $20,000 left over for the ultimate winner.
Brazil’s digopapel then took care of KasparovAKs in 3rd to force heads-up play, albeit at a roughly 2 to 1 disadvantage. Following an intense battle, the deciding hand was subsequently played with digopapel (8-6) moving all-in on a 7-5-J flop, only to be called by TheFan83 holding K-7. The J anf A on turn and river changed nothing, though, and so digopapel finished the runner-up, while TheFan83 claimed the victory.
Final Table Results:
1: TheFan83 (Austria) $122,000*
2: digopapel (Brazil) $112,734*
3: KasparovAKs (Poland) $91,000*
4: tha_winnah (Norway) $51,304
5: 4rebmun (Canada) $36,003
6: djmib2 (Germany) $25,266
7. FeaNoR4eG (Ukraine) $17,731
8: #Naktro91 (United Kingdom) $12,443
9: J.C. “PrtyPsux” Alvarado (Mexico) $8,732
