Terry Ring Wins Heartland Poker Tour Missouri For $112kTerry Ring has won the Heartland Poker Tour Missouri, after overcoming a field of 324 players over three days to lift the title, and collect the $111,968 first-place prize.
Previously, the Iowa resident’s biggest scores came last year after winning the $1,650 MSPT Tama for $87,694, and finishing 3rd at the $1,650  Heartland Poker Tour Iowa for $21,690. With his triumph in Missouri, Terry Ring now takes his live tournament earnings to $230,522.
The $1,650 HPT Missouri was held at the River City Casino, St. Louis, and created a prize pool worth $466,560. Amongst the notable players then cashing in at the event was Greg Raymer in 14th ($6,672), and HPT winner Alan Engel in 11th for $8,865.
Making his way through to the final table of nine was defending champion Roger Campbell, who commented, “I’m thinking, wow, I can’t believe that I am here again.” Last year he won the event for $131,681 but this time around his quest ended in 6th place for a $18,886 payday.
Eventually just Terry Ring and Parminder Singh were left to battle it out for the honours and it would subsequently take another 128 hands before the defining hand was played with Ring (9-5) and Singh (8-3) all-in on a 9-3-2 flop. The turn and river brought Q-Q, and so Singh had to settle for a runner-up finish worth $67,931, while Terry Ring was rewarded with the title, and $111,968 in prize money.
