Shaun Deeb Wins SCOOP Event #10 For $41,600
May 11, 2012 11:28 amShaun “shaundeeb” Deeb has won PokerStars Event #10-High $2,100 Stud, after defeating a field of 64 runners on his way to collecting a top prize worth $41,600.
The event attracted a whole host of top pros from Team PokerStars all vying for a slice of the $128,000 prize pool. These included Alex Kravchenko, Eugene Katchalov, Anders “Donald” Berg, Jason Mercier, and ElkY Grospellier, but with just eight places being paid only George Lind (8th) and George Danzer (4th) walked away with some of the money.
When nine players remained, Shaun Deeb was one of the shortest stacks at the table but managed to outlast PearlJammer, who painfully bubbled out in 9th spot after 10 hours of gruelling competition. As the final table got underway, the players lined-up as follows:
Andy McLEOD (82,281)
GVOZDIKA55 (82,084)
Speedpokah (56,244)
TheMuppet (30,757)
Pat Pezzin (28,184)
shaundeeb (22,904)
GeorgeDanzer (13,282)
George Lind (4,264)
Deeb then proceeded to double up through GVOZDIKA55 before eliminating Speedpokah in 7th and Pat Pezzin in 6th to eventually go heads-up against UK player TheMuppet. Although trailing by 135,096 chips to TheMuppet’s 184,904 chips, Shaun Deeb seemed confident and jovial typing at the start of play:
“You’re in trouble. I left a few gulps of my Orange Crush for HU.”
Meanwhile, the players made a deal for the money before the incredibly volatile encounter ensued, prompting Deeb to inform his followers via twitter:
“Insane hu match so far was down 4 to 1 chips then up 3 to 1 now we are even after straight vs straight made on 7th 27k locked up 42k for 1st.”
Ultimately, however, Deeb triumphed to capture a second career SCOOP crown, and add another $41,600 to the $5,233,991 he has already won playing tournaments online.
The final table payouts were as follows:
1. Shaun “shaundeeb” Deeb (Mexico) – $41,600
