Shaun Deeb Wins Third Career Scoop Title In Event #19
May 14, 2012 2:55 pmPokerStars 2012 Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) has now produced its second multi-event winner after Shaun “shaundeeb” Deeb followed last week’s victory in Event #10 for $41,600, with a win in Event #19 for $44,200.
Both were stud tournaments with the latest being a $2,000 Triple Stud event which attracted 68 players to create a prize pool worth $136,000. Amongst the top Team PokerStars names entering the competition were George Danzer, George Lind III, Nacho Barbero, Ville Wahlbeck, Anders Berg, Martin Staszko, Bertrand Grospellier and Eugene Katchalov.
Eight hours later and the final table was set, with the finalists lining up as follows:

After three players were sent to the rail, Deeb tweeted an update to the event saying: “3/5, but less than half avg. @EugeneKatchalov is crushing the table. I’m just getting lots of bets in good then losing. $10K locked up already.”
Eventually, Deeb, Katchalov and UK pro Stephen “stevie444” Chidwick made it through to three-handed play, which then lasted two hours before Deeb eliminated Team PokerStars Pro Katchalov in 3rd ($20,400), who later tweeted:
“Ran atrociously bad three-handed and finished third.”
Shaun Deeb’s unprecedented run continued with the elimination of Stephen “stevie444” Chidwick in 2nd ($28,560) with Deeb subsequently becoming only the second player ever to win three SCOOP titles. After his impressive victory, Deeb tweeted:
“Another SCOOP title for me. Super tough and long three-hour match with Stevie and @EugeneKatchalov. Both played well, but turned down a +EV chop.”

Following Black Friday, Shaun Deeb has continued playing online poker from Mexico and has now earned almost $5.5 million from online tournaments, as well as a further $745,473 playing live.
