Samad Razavi Wins 4 APT Titles In Just One WeekFor the last ten years, UK poker player Sam Razavi has made Asia his home, during which time the 35 year-old has three times received the Asian Poker Tour Player of The Year award. Describing the laid back lifestyle, cheaper living, hot weather and delicious Asian food, Razavi said some of his favorite destinations include Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, and Thailand.
Now, Sam Razavi can add the Philippines to his list, after winning an incredible four Asian Poker Tour (APT) titles over the space of just one week. Samad Razavi went on his unprecedented run after taking down his first tournament at the Waterfront Hotel & Casino, Cebu, for $1,350, before winning the $235 (PhP11k) PLO Hi event (60 players) for $3,481; the $120 (PhP5.5k) NL Deep Stack Turbo 3 event (73 players) for $2,115; and finally the $235 (PhP11k) NL 6 Handed Turbo event (67 players) for $3,879.
All told, Razavi amassed US$10,825 from his slew of title victories, which subsequently boosted his live career earnings to $1,487,046. After capturing the final event, the affable Englishman subsequently tweeted:
“Good deed done for the day after I took Trophy No. 4 under my wing and sheltered it from the rain and cold.”
Sam Razavi was an actor from Brighton, UK before becoming a poker pro in 2007. In 2012, he then picked up his biggest score to date after wining the APPT Melbourne Main Event for US$339,745. As well as his poker skills, Samad Razavi is well known on the circuit for his humor, and his “eccentric and fun filled antics”. As Razavi states on his twitter account:
