Record Breaking PokerStars Sunday Million Won By RichieRichZH

Record Breaking PokerStars Sunday Million Won By RichieRichZHTo mark four year’s of Sunday Million tournaments, PokerStars had announced in advance that the winner of last Sunday’s flag ship competition would receive at least $1 million.
The tournament  usually guarentees a prize-pool of $1.5 million, but by boosting that amount to $4 million PokerStars ensured that the site celebrated the tournament’s anniversary in style by setting yet another personal record.
In total, an incredible 36,169 players paid $215 each to create a massive prize pool of $7,233,800, which was almost double the previous record set at the site just a few weeks earlier.
The tournament got started at 3:30 pm CST and by 8:00pm the remaining 5,400 players left were all assured at least $289.35 for their efforts, but had their sites firmly set on making it all the way to the final table. Several hours later lfunk11 fell just short of that goal when he re-raised DerHenker666’s pre-flop KQ bet all-in holding the pocket rocket’s and was eliminated in 10th ($21,701.40) when the board fell Jc 3s Kh 6h Qs.
As the final table played down to its conclusion, Erik “lirarerik” Friberg collected $282,118 in fourth when his pocket 9’s fell to RichieRichZH’s pocket J’s. RichieRichZH then managed to pull even further ahead when petinvest7’s hit a straight on the flop, only to get overtaken by his opponent’s full house on the river, and so he exited the competition in third for a $506,366 pay-day.
The tournament then reached its final climax when lankeshwar pushed all-in pre-flop with A 4 and was called by RichieRichZH holding pocket 3’s. Despite a flop of 5-2-10 giving lankeshwar several outs, two threes was enough to win the tournament but lankeshwar still collected a massive $754,775 for his impressive deep run in the competition.
However, RichieRichZH enjoyed a Sunday he won’t forget in a hurry after walking away with an incredible $1,141,510 in prize money, worth more than all but three of the top prizes awarded at last year’s WSOP.
