PokerStars LAPT Rosario 2010 Won By Martin Sansour

Martin Sansour has just won the PokerStars sponsored Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) Rosario, after defeating a field of 254 players over four days to take down the tournament, as well as the $322,280 first-place prize.
By the end of Day 1 of the event the starting field of 254 had been reduced to 130 hopefuls. Day 2 saw that number further whittled down to 24 players and after five hours of play on Day 3 just the final table of eight remained.
As the final table got underway, Peruvian Martin Sansour was lying third in chips but soon set about eliminating the competition to work his way to the chip lead.
First to go was Nico Fierro after having his AA push called by Sansour holding KK. With the board running out T-Q-J-5-9, Sansour made a straight to eliminate the Chilean in 8th ($25,880).
Next, it was the turn of short-stack Ivan Saul whose Ac-Tc failed to improve against Sansour’s pocket 8’s and so was eliminated in 7th ($37,640).
Continuing his steamroll of the final table, Martin Sansour then picked off a shortish stack Matthias Habernig who had tried to steal the blinds and antes with a Qh-3h shove. Sansour held As-7d and hit an A on the flop to knock Habernig out in 6th ($49,400).
Roberto Bianchi then fell in 5th ($61,160) after a mistimed bluff holding pocket 3’s on a Q-J-8-6-Q board, in which he tried to get Sansour off his made straight.
After Sansour eliminated William Ross in 4th ($84,690), Bolivar Palacios put an end to Sansour’s remarkable run by dispatching Daniel Ades in 3rd ($115,270) to set up the heads-up battle.
Going into the heads-up phase Sansour had 3.505 million chips to his opponent’s 1.575 million but just two hands later it was all over after Palacios raised holding Ad-Qc and called Sansour’s Ac-Kc shove.
With a K falling on the flop, Bolivar Palacios picked-up $188,200 for his runner-up finish, while full accolades and the $322,280 top prize went to deserving winner Martin Sansour who absolutely crushed the final table.
