Noah Boeken Wins Amsterdam High Roller Event for €217,069

Last Sunday, the 2016 Master Classics of Poker €10,250 High Roller reached its conclusion at the Holland Casino in Amsterdam, and ultimately triumphing over a field of 73 players was one of the country’s most successful pros, Noah Boeken. As a result of a victory which earned him €217,069 ($229,812), Boeken now boosts his career earnings to $2,019,263, placing him at number 9 on the Netherlands ‘All Time Money List’.
The High Roller event featured a prize pool of €732,604, and proved such a popular affair that it needed an extra day to complete. On the competition’s final day, six players returned to the arena, with English pro Charlie Carrel way out in front holding a huge chip lead.
Carrel (8-8) then extended his lead further after eliminating fellow countryman Enzo Del Piero (2-2) in 6th, and by the time three-handed play had been reached, Carrel was sitting on a 1.3 million stack, followed by Van Brugge (636K), and Noah Boeken (271K). Boeken soon managed to double-up through Van Brugge, though, and then Carrel before finally sending Kees van Brugge to the rail in 3rd for a €98,901 payday.
Carrel subsequently dominated the early stages of their heads-up battle, but Noah Boeken managed to eventually reduce Carrel to just 25bb when the deciding hand was played with the UK pro reraising all-in preflop holding pocket fours. Boeken snapped called with the pocket rockets, and after the dealer layed out a Q-6-3-8-Q board, Charlie Carrel had to settle for a runner-up finish, while Boeken was crowned the champion.
Noah Boeken has now cashed in at the Master Classics of Poker series a total of 19 times, with his biggest career win coming in 2013 after taking down the €4,250 MSOP Main Event for €306,821 ($411,013). The 35 year-old is also a regular at the WSOP, and has cashed in the series on 16 occasions for $211,510 in winnings.
