Manny Pacquiao World Poker Event Won By Oliver Speidel

Manny Pacquiao World Poker Event Won By Oliver Speidel Oliver Speidel has won the inaugural Manny Pacquiao World Poker Event, after overcoming a field of 148 players over five days on his way to picking-up the PHP 2,202,000 ($50,866) first place prize.
News of the APT Accredited Event was first announced back in September in honour of World Champion boxer Manny Pacquiao, who is a national hero in his native Philippine.
Now complete, the P50,000 (US$1,155) buy-in poker tournament ran from December 1st to 6th at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Manila and managed to generate a prize pool worth PHP 6,675,540 (US$154,594).
Eventual winner, Australian pro Oliver Speidel entered the final table in pole position with the players lining-up as follows:
Oliver Speidel (Australia) – 480k
Conrad Coetzer (South Africa) – 322k
Aldrin Edoc (Philippines) – 268k
Jay Lubas (Philippines) – 207k
Ranniel Galvez (Philippines) – 188k
Elias Koukos (Australia) – 168k
Divan Le Roux (South Africa) – 160k
Richard Marquez (Philippines) – 159k
Sim Jae Kyung (Korea) – 138k
Czardy Rivera (Philippines) – 132k
A bold and aggressive Oliver Speidel then further consolidated his strangle hold on the competition when he tangled with the second biggest stack at the table Conrad Coetzer. The South African (Q-Q) called Speidel’s 4-bet shove holding Ad-Jh and was eliminated after the board fell 3-A-K-A-6.
At that point Speidel had around half the chips at the table and would eliminate five players in total before then going heads-up against Czardy Rivera.
Speidel started the heads-up phase with 1,520,000 in chips to Rivera’s 680,000 and managed to dominate his opponent. Eventually Rivera shoved his remaining chips holding A-6 into Speidel’s A-J, and with the board falling 2-7-3-2-10 was eliminated the runner-up for PHP 1,201,600 (US$27,756).
Meanwhile, Australia’s Oliver Speidel was crowned the inaugral Manny Pacquiao World Poker Event Champion and has now won $192,132 from live tournaments.
