Luke Graham Wins 2013 WSOPC Harrah's New Orleans
May 22, 2013 1:00 pmLuke Graham has won the 2013 WSOP Circuit Harrah’s New Orleans, after overcoming a field of 762 players on his way to capturing the tile, and collecting the $228,600 first place prize.
The 42 year-old stockbroker from Florida has now had four cashes in 2013 worth $307,685, including another win last month at the $1,060 WPT Bestbet Open, Jacksonville for $34,960. Following his latest victory in New Orleans, Graham commented: “I am ecstatic to win this. The money means quite a bit to me. It’s going to allow me to do a few things. I’ll definitely use some of it to go out to Las Vegas this summer.”
First to exit the final table was Pavan Bhatia in 9th ($21,591), whose pocket threes preflop jam foundered against the A-K of Daniel Weinman. Joseph Hebert then enjoyed more luck with pocket threes after dispatching Ben Mintz (6-6) to the rail in 8th ($27,192), and after 2 time WSOPC ring winner Tripp Kirk went out in 7th ($34,667), Luke Graham entered the fray by eliminating Dan Schmiech in 6th for $44,748.
Graham’s next victim was Daniel Weinman in 4th ($77,438), whose K-10 was no match for Graham’s A-Q, and after doing likewise to Kasra Khodayarkhani in 3rd ($103,899), the heads-up phase of the competition got underway between Grahamand Joseph Hebert.
As heads-up started, the two players were fairly even in chips but the tournament came to a cruch after Herbert’s (10-7) all-in river bluff failed to move Luke Graham (K-8) off the 2-8-3-3-3 board. Nursing a severely crippled stack, Hebert then got it all-in next hand with 10-6 and after Graham called with A-8, the board rolled out 8-9-8-A-2 to hand Luke Graham the WSOPC title.
The final table payouts were as follows:
1st Luke Graham $228,600
2nd Joseph Hebert $140,932
3rd Khodayarkhani $103,899
4th Daniel Weinman $77,438

6th Dan Schmiech $44,748
