Ken Baime Triumphs At MSPT Majestic Star Casino
March 11, 2014 1:45 pmKen Baime has triumphed at the 2014 Mid-States Poker Tour Majestic Star Casino, after besting a field of 301 players over two days on his way to lifting the title, and collecting the $77,681 first-place prize.
After the Main Event reached its final table of ten, Baime stayed away from any big pot action until just seven players remained. The Indiana man (7-7) then got involved in a three-way hand against an all-in Allen Lanier (9-6) and a big stacked Brian Zimcosky (8-7). The Q-7-8 flop then saw Zimcosky snap-call Baime’s shove and with the turn and river producing a 10 and 6, Baime suddenly became the tables new chip leader.
From there he never looked back, and when just three finalists remained Ken Baime (5-4) was able to induce an all-in check-raise from Zimcosky (Ks-10s) on a 5s-7d-Js-4h board, and after the river bricked, he then went heads-up against Leon Morford for the title.
The final battle subsequently lasted around an hour until the defining hand was played with Morford (A-4) check-raising all-in preflop only to be called by Baime with a dominating A-10. The dealer then put out a Q-10-Q-7-J board to consign Leon Morford to a runner-up finish worth $42,504, while Ken Baime walked away with the title.
Final Table Results:
1st Kenneth Baime $77,681
2nd Leon Morford $42,504
