Joseph McKeehen Wins WSOPC Caesars Atlantic City For $174kJoseph McKeehen has won the World Series of Poker Circuit Caesars Atlantic City Main Event, after defeating a field of 540 players over three days on his way to capturing the title and collecting the $174,150 first place prize.
By the time the $1,675 buy-in tournament reached its final table of nine, Philadelphia’s Joseph McKeehen held a formidable chip lead with a 4.05m stack, followed by Hend Matthews a distant second on 1.3 million, and with no other finalist above a million chips.
First to leave the arena was Allie Prescott in 9th ($16,160), whose pocket sevens foundered against the pocket kings of John Holley. He was followed soon after by Leo Walker in 8th ($20,307), having ran his K-Q into the A-Q of Joseph McKeehen.
Raymond Morgan had no better luck with his K-Q and was eliminated by Dennis Thurman (A-8) in 7th for $25,880, while Tony Sinishtaj (6-6) then joined the fray by dispatching John Holley (A-9) to the rail in 6th ($33,453).
Joseph McKeehen (8-8) subsequently made a straight on a 7-9-10-6-A board to eliminate Hend Matthews (K-10) in 5th ($43,853), before Tony Sinishtaj (K-K) resumed his run by knocking Dennis Thurman (A-9) out in 4th ($58,312), then Ido Ashkenazi in 3rd ($78,659) to get the heads-up phase of the competition underway.
At this stage, McKeehen held a 6.47 million to 4.33 million advantage over Sinishtaj, but he soon managed to pull away to a 6 to 1 lead before the final hand was played. Despite being dealt pocket eights, Sinishtaj found himself all-in pre-flop and up against the Q-Q of McKeehen. The board then rolled out J-K-3-3-9 to relegate Tony Sinishtaj to a runner-up finish worth $107,673, while Joseph McKeehen was crowned the WSOPC Caesars Atlantic City champion.
The final table payouts were as follows:
