James Jeff Wins HPT Club One Casino For $85,184

James Jeff Wins HPT Club One Casino For $85,184James Jeff has won the Heartland Poker Tour Club One Casino, after overcoming a field of 246 players over three days on his way to collecting the title, and the $85,184 first place prize.
Day 2 of the HPT Main Event saw 99 players return to the action, and near the end of the day Allen Kessler was eliminated in 13th and Greg Raymer in 11th place, with the final table of nine subsequently getting underway the following day.
The accomplished final table which then ensued included Poker Hall of Famer Barbara Enright, as well as Jerry Yang, who famously won the 2007 WSOP Main Event for $8.25 million. Both players were well placed in 5th and 6th positions respectively, while James Jeff started the final table in pole position. Also competing for the HPT title was Wendy Friedman, Lisa Jacobs, Mimi Luu, Yotam Shmuelov, Mike Ball and Triet Nguyen.
Unfortunately for Yang, though, he was first to leave the arena in 9th ($9,228) after the same hand he won the WSOP Main Event with (8-8) faltered on a 10-9-4-2-6 board against the Q-10 of Triet Nguyen. Nguyen (4-4) then followed up by dispatching Barbara Enright (9-9) to the rail in 7th ($13,310), before being dealt  pocket kings and scoring a double-elimination against Mimi Luu (A-K) in 6th ($15,972) and Mike Ball (A-J) in 5th ($19,521).
James Jeff subsequently joined the fray by eliminating Wendy Freedman  in 4th ($25,200) and Yotam Shmuelov in 3rd ($35,493) to force heads-up against Triet Nguyen. As the heads-up battle commenced, Jeff held a 4.6 million chip to 2.7 million chip advantage over Nguyen and an hour later the defining hand was played with Jeff (A-A) and Nguyen (5-5) all-in pre-flop. The board then produced a K-7-6-6-Q to consign Triet Nguyen to a runner-up finish worth $52,530, while James Jeff was crowned the 2013 HPT Club One Casino champion.
