Daniel Negreanu Wins $119,193 Cashing 15 Times At WCOOP 2011

Daniel Negreanu has enjoyed one of his most successful stints online after cashing a total of 15 times at this year’s World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) for $119,193.
Negreanu is part of Team PokerStars, which consists of 97 players, 92 of which took part in the online poker tournament series. Overall, the Team played 1,580 events and made the money 248 times for a  15.7% cashing rate.
With his tally of 15 cashes from 52 tournaments, Negreanu’s cashing rate of 28.8% was almost double that of his fellow Team mates and placed him 2nd overall in the total number of cashes in the series.
It would appear the PokerStars 2011 WCOOP brought out the competitive side in Negreanu, who said this year he did a lot more preparations ahead of the online tournament series. As he explained on his blog:
“If I’m being completely honest, my online tournament results have never been very good, and the main reason for that is that I just never really cared too much, but since the WCOOP has become such a prestigious event, I wanted to do the best that I could, which meant preparation.”
This time around, Negreanu said that having his stats program up and running while also taking detailed notes on his opponents helped improve his results dramatically leading to his remarkable run in this year’s WCOOP series.
Daniel’s results are even more impressive when one considers the amount of travelling he did throughout the month of September. As he explains:
“I ended up playing WCOOPs in four different countries in just a three week span. I started my WCOOP in Barcelona, then off to Montenegro, Budapest, and finally, locked myself up in a hotel room in London for the stretch run.”
