Atanas Kavrakov Wins WPT National Cyprus For €75,000Atanas Kavrakov has won the partypoker sponsored World Poker Tour National Cyprus Main Event, after besting a field of 172 players over three days on his way to capturing the title, and collecting the €75,000 ($86,618) first place prize.
The €2,000 buy-in Main Event was held at the Noah’s Ark Hotel and Spa in the Turkish-occupied area of Cyprus, and created a prize pool worth €3,001,312 ($86,618). Amongst the notable pros then seeing a return on their entry fee was Erwann Pecheux in 18th (€3,800), Michael Mizrachi in 17th (€3,800), and Barny Boatman in 15th (€4,375).
After the final table got underway, Atanas Kavrakov (K-K) eliminated Ercan Olgun (A-J) in 8th for €9,900, before being dealt K-J and doing likewise to Marco Della Tommasina (8-9) in 4th for €24,800.
