New Jersey iPoker Generates $2.39M in October

October proved a popular month for New Jersey’s poker market, mostly thanks to PokerStars hosting the NJCOOP online tournament series, as well as its inaugural PokerStars Festival at the Resorts Casino Hotel. This was subsequently reflected in the state’s latest online poker revenue figures, which soared to $2.39 million in October, up by 18.5% versus September, and by a whopping 24.9% compared to the same month in 2015.
Needless to say, PokerStars/Resorts managed to dominate the Garden State’s online poker market last month with $1,013,671 in revenues, representing an impressive 36.2% gain compared to the previous month. Up until now, cash game liquidity was held up as the main benchmark for assessing a poker site’s performance, but the latest results now show that offering top-notch tournaments was also closely linked to a site’s ultimate performance and success.
That said, PokerStars also moved to the top of the state’s cash game traffic in the second half of October, and seems to have maintained its edge going into November. According to PokerScout its New Jersey site is currently showing 120 cash game players over a 7-day period, followed by WSOP/888 with 100 players, and Party Borgata with 70 players.
In the meantime, PokerStars has continued its tireless efforts to promote its poker products in New Jersey, and following its NJCOOP series it has been running its CardHunt promotion. Up until November 27th, New Jersey players have the opportunity to win $3,000 in cash by completing a 16 to 20 piece poker puzzle made up of a traditional deck of playing cards, with each piece received after winning an online hand containing one of the cards in the puzzle.
Nevertheless, WSOP NJ has been pushing back with a few promotional offers of its own, including two reload bonuses, including an Anniversary Celebration running from November 19th to 25th. Other promotions include MTT and SNG Leaderboard prizes, and Happy Hours in which players can earn double APP points at cash game tables between 4 pm and 8 pm.
