Phil Galfond To Launch iPoker Room

This week, Phil Galfond, the creator of RunItOnce, announced that he now intends to add an online poker room to his online training site’s offering. Galfond states that one of the main aims of an online poker operator should be honesty, transparency, and accountability, and elaborating further on his goals for his new site, explained:
“[A poker site] can’t seek to please everyone by making changes that hurt the business, but it shouldn’t ignore the public. It should be held accountable for the decisions it makes. It should be able to explain itself in a way that reasonable customers will understand.
At RunItOnce, the site’s customers are prepared to pay $99 per month in return for what is considered amongst the best poker coaching in the world, with the roster of trainers including such pros as Ben Sulsky, Jason Koon, Stephen Chidwick, and George Danzer. Players willing to fork out that amount of money on a monthly basis obviously take the game very seriously, with such players feeling increasingly sidelined in recent years as the industry seeks to promote the needs of recreational players first.
Enter Phil Galfond, a 2-times WSOP bracelet winner and one of the most respected players in the game, who regularly takes time to engage with the poker community via online forums such as TwoPlusTwo. Having the US pro in charge of an online poker site obviously promises to bring an unprecedented level of engagement and meaningful discussion on important issues central to the poker community. In the meantime, Galfond has been fielding suggestions for the new site, and as he wrote on TwoPlusTwo on September 1st:
“We’ll all be reading your suggestions and ideas and bringing them up for discussion. Many of these posts have been very intelligent and insightful, which is what I hoped for and expected from the poker community. Thanks again.”
