Will the Negreanu v Hellmuth Boxing Match Take Place?

Daniel Negreanu and Phill Hellmuth are both giants of the poker world with 20 WSOP bracelets and $53,896,685 in tournament winnings between them. In fact, Negreanu is currently ranked at number 1 on poker’s ‘All Time Money List’ and Hellmuth at number 5, but not content to merely exert their dominance over one another on the poker tables, Negreanu is now convinced he could get the better of his perennial opponent in a good old bout of fisticuffs.
Negreanu is convinced that all the fitness training he has been doing over the past couple of years would give him a significant advantage over Hellmuth in a boxing match. In fact, he even put the question to his legion of fans on twitter, with 57% subsequently seeing him as the clear victor over Hellmuth.
In the meantime, Negreanu, 1.79m (5’9″), would still have to contend with a severe height disadvantage over Hellmuth, who is 2.01 m (6’6″), although Hellmuth would still be impaired by being a decade older than “Kid Poker”. Negreanu also believes Hellmuth would soon exhaust during the suggested 3X3 minute rounds, given Negreanu the opportunity to send his opponent to the canvass with a series of knock-out blows.
Hellmuth, on the other hand, is naturally unconvinced, and has said that he would be able to use his height advantage to pepper Negreanu with straight up jabs, before ultimately pummeling his Canadian foe. While the good-humored banter is probably just a bit of fantasy speculation, and is unlikely to ever result in a real fight, there are still a good deal of people who would certainly enjoy the prospect of watching the two poker legends going at it hammer and tongs, and delivering a few good blows on each other.
Other poker pros who have actually transferred their words into action in the past includes Gus Hansen who lost to Theo Jorgensen, and Bertrand Grospellier who was beaten by Lex Veldhuis.
