Full Tilt To Reshape Online Poker Industry With New VIP Program
July 15, 2015 2:18 pmOver the past few years online poker has been dominated by talk of the industry’s ever shrinking landscape and discussions on how to bring recreational players back to a game overrun by grinders. According to Full Tilt Managing Director Dominic Mansour the skill set disparity between these two groups of players has resulted in “shorter lifetimes and faster losses” for newbies, and as Mansour explains on a piece on the site’s blog entitled ‘Reshaping Online Poker’:
“Unless you’re the leader, the poker economy in 2015 is broken. That affects everything; from the business of running an online poker room through to the user experience of someone playing for the first time.”
Consequently, Full Tilt has now decided to improve the poker-playing experience of recreational players by introducing a new, as of yet undisclosed structure to its VIP program designed to encourage customers to play “for the love of the game”. In order to help fund this new structure Full Tilt will subsequently increase its rake for players competing at micro stake cash games up to the $0.05/$0.10 level, and at higher stakes between $5/$10 and $10/$20 levels. Explaining the decision further, Mansour writes:
“The ring game changes will make play easy and accessible, designed to level the playing field for players of all poker skill levels, whether they are playing on a mobile, tablet or desktop device. We consider this revamp to be key to Full Tilt’s commitment to fairness, which in turn will attract more players.”
Further details of these and other changes designed to level the playing field is expected from Full Tilt over the coming weeks, all of which Mansour says are a result of deep analysis of the poker industry, and will put recreational players first, whilst contributing to long term growth of the site. Mansour finishes his article by stating that the latest innovations will help return Full Tilt to its former position of “innovative leader of the online poker industry”, with the Full Tilt Managing Director predicting “fun times ahead.”
