Viktor Blom Rides $3.5m Upswing In October

Viktor Blom Rides $3.5m Upswing In OctoberHigh-stakes pro Viktor “Isildur1” Blom is well-known for being one of the loosest, swingiest poker players in the game, which also helps make the 23 year-old one of the most exciting players to watch.
In fact, the Swedish pro’s poker graph on HighStakesDB looks more like a roller coaster ride complete with spectacular ups and downs, the most recent peak of which occurred this month after notching up an incredible $3.5 million in winnings at Full Tilt.
Casing point, January this year Blom got off to an incredible start and hit around $4 million in earnings before shedding at least $3 million of that amount by the end of February. The following month, Blom was back up to a $4 million profit again, then $5 million by July, until he hit a monumental downswing once more.
Viktor Blom’s subsequently dropped to just $300k in the black for the year by the end of September, when suddenly it all turned around for the nosebleed pro, who has now won $3,489,815 in October, including around $2 million in the last five days alone.
Interestingly, most of the Swede’s earnings have come from playing 2-7 TD and PLO, while at NLHE Blom is actually a slight loser, overall. Nevertheless, Viktor Blom’s latest upswing means he is now leading the way once more in profits for 2013 amongst the entire online poker world.
Conversely, the biggest loser this year is also October’s biggest loser, namely Gus Hansen, who lost $1,111,652 during the month, and has currently dropped -$5,693,356 for the year so far.
One things for sure, however, is that between Blom and Hansen’s endeavours at Full Tilt’s high-stakes tables, there is plenty of action and excitement for poker fans to relish.
