Victory Poker Signs Swedish Pro Joel "Odonkor1" Nordqvist

Victory Poker Signs Swedish Pro Joel "Odonkor1" Nordqvist Victory Poker have just announced the addition of Swedish online poker sensation Joel Nordqvist aka “Odonkor1” to their stable of pros.
Joel Nordqvist appeared on the poker scene’s radar at the 2008 EPT Barcelona Open, where he collected $28k for his 28th place finish at the €8,000 buy-in event. Despite this appearing to be the only cash finish he has had in live tournament events, it is online where “Odonkor1” is best known.
In 2009, Nordqvist’s online success didn’t go unnoticed and he found himself nominated at the PokerStars’ Scandinavian Poker Awards, in the “Best Online Poker Player” category.
Even though Nordqvist has been dominating the online scene on Betfair Poker and several iPoker Network sites for a while now, he has only recently come to major prominence after hitting Full Tilt Poker’s high stakes games, last month.
Before long, Odonkor1 began crushing the sites $100/$200 NLHE heads-up games, playing against some of Full Tilt’s top players such as Tom “durrrr” Dwan and “jungleman12”, and over the space of just three days he managed to notch up a profit of $854k.
In spite of the similarity in nomers between Odonkor1 and his Swedish high stakes compatriot Isildur1, Nordqvist is known as a well respected, self controlled solid player, who rarely ventures away from his preferred no-limit hold’em domain, and believes in practicing good bankroll management.
Commenting on the latest addition of Joel “Odonkor1” Nordqvist to Team Victory, CEO Dan Fleyshman said: “I’m truly excited to sign such an online superstar and look forward to his performance at this year’s WSOP. We’ll also be keeping an eye on him in nosebleed high-stakes games online.”
Nordqvist now joins a top flight team of pros which include Antonio Esfandiari, Paul Wasicka, Alec “traheho” Torelli, James Obst, Jason Lavallee, Lee Markholt, Chinese Poker expert Danny Wong and Playboy’s stunning  Playmate of 2007, Sara Underwood.
