Vanessa Rousso to Release First Dance Single on Feb 5th

Vanessa Rousso is set to release the first of a series of dance genre singles called “Kiss Face” on February 5th, together with Melissa Ouellet, her long-term partner. Ouellet has carved out a successful career for herself as a DJ/Producer, while Rousso is a former poker pro with $3,551,241 in winnings, placing her at number 5 on the “Women’s All Time Money List”.  Together they form the group called “N1TEL1TE”, and commenting on their upcoming release, Ouellet posted on her twitter account:
“Lookout ??@N1TEL1TE is about to drop our first OFFICIAL release ‘Kiss Face’ on @VanessaRousso’s bday Feb 5th!#Music”
Elaborating further on their single, Rousso stated that “Kiss Face” was initially going to be used as a musical backdrop on English singer-songwriter Adele’s critically acclaimed hit song ‘Hello’, but that they subsequently decided to use the piece as a stand alone original production, instead.
Vanessa Rousso has completed an online contemporary music course from the Berklee College of Music, and said that she has always been fascinated with music, and wanted to learn how to compose her own songs. Even during her time as a full-time poker pro and member of PokerStars Team Pro, Rousso explained that music has always held an important part in her life, and that listening to music enabled her to deal with bad run of cards or other frustrations associated with the game.
However, Rousso says that she now feels like taking people’s money at the poker table has a negative effect on her soul, stating:
“The thing about music is that you’re actually connecting with people and making them feel positive emotions in a very different way from the way I interact with people at the poker table and it was kind of like the missing link for me. It was like your soul kind of like has the need to connect with other people.”
