UK Poker Champ Neil Channing Now A Sky Poker AmbassadorBritish poker legend Neil Channing has just been unveiled as Sky Poker’s newest Ambassador, and will work alongside fellow British star Julian Thew in promoting the site. The varied duties the 47 year-old pro will now be performing include making appearances on Sky Poker TV, writing blogs, interacting with players on the Sky Poker Forum, as well as playing online and at various live events representing Sky Poker.
In addition to being a prolific poker player with $3,401,388 in tournament earnings, Neil Channing is also renowned for his amiable and talkative nature at the tables, and after his appointment was announced by Sky Poker, it wasn’t long before his pal and WSOP bracelet winner Barny Boatman chimed in with the following tweet”
“Congratulations to @SkyPoker for signing the great @SenseiChanning. I hope for their sake they’re not paying him by the word.”
Neil Channing is currently ranked 8th on England’s all time money list, with some of his more memorable cashes including winning the 2008 Irish Open for €801,400 ($1,263,261), and a runner-up finish at the 2010 Grosvenor UK Poker Tour London for $129,604. The Reading-born pro has also notched up 33 cashes at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, including finishing the 2007 WSOP Main Event in 131st place for $58,570, finishing the 2010 WSOP $5,000 NL Shootout in 2nd for $273,153, and another runner-up finish at the 2012 WSOP $1,500 NL event for $406,409.
Neil Channing also writes regularly about the game, and wrote a blog at his Black Belt Poker site for several years, and currently contributes articles to Bluff Europe Magazine.
